Where can I make a brochure
Create a brochure - 10 important tips
Information prepared in high quality - this is what the brochure stands for. The qualitative spectrum ranges from simple to exclusive.
There are practically no limits to the design as well as to the choice of material. Nevertheless, we would like to give you a few tips to help you successfully create a brochure.
Tip 1 on the subject of »creating a brochure«: the right format
A brochure can be in virtually any format. The term "brochure" primarily refers to the type of binding. A brochure can even be created without any binding. It differs from flyers or other formats in that the brochure consists of several pages and does not have a hard cover. You can create simple brochures using linked individual pages. Another rather simple version consists of double pages with a center fold. In the majority of cases, the brochure has a paper cover similar to that used on the inside. However, high-quality alternatives are available that allow exceptional envelopes.
Tip 2 on the subject of »creating a brochure«: the scope
In practice, there are few restrictions on the scope of creating a brochure. The brochure is characterized above all by the type of cover and can thus be distinguished from the book. Nevertheless, most brochures are characterized by a rather small size. For example, statistics from UNESCO can contain up to 48 pages as a brochure. However, printing companies certainly offer higher page numbers than brochures. However, depending on the size of the inner part, other binding techniques may be necessary so that the work will last for a long time.
Tip 3 on the subject of »creating a brochure«: The cover
The cover can be as varied as the type of binding: A brochure is the summary of originally loose sheets of paper by means of a ring binding, it can be glued to the spine or stapled with wire pins. If the circumference is larger, a spine may have to be planned for the binding so that the book block finds adequate space. The latter solution in particular offers further options: namely space for the name of the publisher, the author and the title. Even if many think of the brochure as a short-lived product, many of the works are intended for permanent use.
Tip 4 on the subject of »creating a brochure«: the choice of paper
Which paper you choose on the inside is primarily determined by the content. If you want to create a brochure that contains many pictures, it is advisable to use art print paper. If mainly text is to appear, you can choose cheaper papers. If you are planning to create an instruction manual as a brochure, decide the paper quality - and thus the costs - analogous to your product: You should not print the manual for a mid-range car on the cheapest paper that is currently in circulation. Your customers would perceive it as a discrepancy.
Tip 5 on the subject of »creating a brochure«: monochrome or multi-colored
Why not both? Clever page arrangement allows only individual pages to be printed in color. Parts of the brochure that contain only text may be printed in one color. Usually black is a pleasant color tone for writing, which promises good legibility. If pictures are indispensable in these areas, check whether they are also convincing in black and white. You might invest the costs saved in this way in the colored part of your brochure or the cover can be given a spot color. Creating a brochure also means efficiency through planning.
Tip 6 on the subject of »creating a brochure«: think about the target group
It seems easy to create a brochure, because the contents are usually known long before the design begins. When you have reached this point, please consider who should use the brochure and how often. Brochures that are in constant use must have a long-lasting binding. If this breaks after repeated use, individual pages and with them the information will soon be lost. In addition, you annoy your customer. Before you start creating your brochure, ask your trusted printer about the options.
Tip 7 on the subject of »creating a brochure«: the content
Make it easy for the reader and find a balance between images and text when creating your brochure. Experience has shown that it will be more popular if the person addressed does not only find a lead desert! You can also loosen up the appearance with an appropriate lead. You risk a lot if the information-hungry person puts the brochure aside unread, but little if it is a little larger in length.
Tip 8 on the subject of »creating a brochure«: Who will produce the brochure?
If your brochure is only to withstand short-term use and loose sheets of paper are to be held together by a center fold, the way to the nearby copy shop is sufficient. In the opposite case, going to the print shop is indispensable. If you are creating your brochure so that the reader can enjoy your product for a long time or if you want to offer high-quality products, ensure that the brochure has a corresponding appearance. Satisfied customers will surely compensate for the financial commitment.
Tip 9 on the subject of »creating a brochure«: Circulation volume
Those who save on the number of copies may not reach their target group completely. Costs can only be minimized to a small extent if you choose a smaller print run. Here you can practically only save at the wrong end.
Tip 10 on the subject of »creating a brochure«: the choice of binding
Even with this important decision, the advice of the printing company is always good advice. Trust their experience there if you want to create a brochure.
A tip at the end:
Take pleasure in working on your brochure. Creating a brochure can give you as much pleasure yourself as it should give the reader.
