Charles Otto "Charlie" Puth Junior (Born December 2, 1991 in Rumson, New Jersey, USA) is an American singer and songwriter with German and Hungarian roots who gained great popularity through YouTube. According to the sources, he has sold more than 47.5 million records in his career. Charlie Puth's most successful release is the single he wrote See you again with around 15.5 million units sold.

Childhood and adolescence

Charlie Puth was born as one of three children to a father with German and Hungarian roots and a Jewish mother. When he was two years old, a dog injured his face and he was sewn with several stitches. These scars are still visible today, which gives it its distinctive eyebrow. After graduating from Berklee College of Music with a degree in music, he moved to Los Angeles.

2009–2014: beginnings

In 2009, Puth began uploading cover songs to YouTube. He finally achieved high fame for his acoustic cover version of the Adele song Someone Like Youthat he sang with Emily Luther. The American talk show host Ellen DeGeneres became aware of this cover version and invited the two to her show. DeGeneres gave them their first record deal with the record label eleveneleven by DeGeneres. After Puth eleveneleven left, he signed a recording deal with Atlantic Records.

2015 to date: Some Type of Love

In February 2015 he released his first single Marvin Gayewhich he composed with Julie Frost. He sang the single with Meghan Trainor. It was his first international chart success. However, he gained even greater fame through his single See you again from the soundtrack of the film Fast & Furious 7, which he recorded with Wiz Khalifa and became a worldwide success. Puth also starred in the music video for the single in 2015 Dear Future Husband by Meghan Trainor with. In 2016, the last episode of the first season became Supergirl One call away played.
